Videos

So there is a small explanation for these videos.  No, you are not seeing sideways. I recorded these on my phone. If I hold my phone upright I didn't know that my videos will be sideways. Have tried everything to turn them. So enjoy them if you can. (Laptop users you're Lucky, you can turn sideways. hee, hee!)

YUMMY! APPLESAUCE!

I am now 4 Months Old!

I now love to make noises all the time!  My favorite thins is to be on the floor under my toys.  I am trying to roll over, I will get it soon.  Mommy does exercises with me every once in a while.  I like it!  I now know what Applesauce, Bananas, and Apple Juice taste like. I didn't like them at first, but they now are YUMMY!

Father's Day

It was Jonathan's 1st Father's Day.
He had to work, but we went to the Station for lunch.
It was a good day!

14 days of being a Mountain Man

Jonathan had the opportunity of going on the Horse Shoe 2 Fire.  He left on Sunday May 8th, and returned on Monday May 23rd. I was in Taylor for Mother's Day when he left. Thankfully it worked out that Mom was able to come back with me.  She watched Makenna while I worked.  She stayed the whole 2 weeks, and I couldn't have done it without her. He had a good exerience and learned a lot.  They worked 14-18hr days. He said he was amazed of how well it was origanized.  They kept them on a good schedule, and helping in different areas. He was able to better his skills, and enjoyed working with other firefighters. He was pretty sick of camping by the time he got home.  Base camp was a big sea of tents. He said it was like a miniature city. The hardest part is he missed little Makenna.  They didn't always have cell service.  Some nights I did not hear from him, and that was hard.

The Boys were Super Happy when he got home. He smelled like a camp fire for several days.  It was nice to have him home though!

I'm now 3 months old!

I now love to giggle, and laugh all the time!  I have started to figure out how to get Mom and Dad's attention, if I want something.  I love to play with my floor mat, and to stand in the jumper. I haven't figured out how to bounce, but I love to sway in it.

Love, Peace, & Happiness

(4-18) Love, Peace, Happiness.

2 Months Old

I am getting so much bigger! I have figured out that I can chew on my hands. My favorite thing to do is to sit in my Bouncer. I like to smile all the time, and I can now laugh at Mommy & Daddy.   I am now sleeping at least 6-8 hours during the night.  Mommy likes that a lot!

My "little" Garden Gnome

(4/15) Makenna is a Garden Gnome. I love her in this outfit! It is my favorite. She has gotten too big for it, so I have to retire it.  (Her feet are busting out).  She makes the Cutest Garden Gnome ever!

"Daydreams"

(4/14) Makenna went gardening. Makenna is suppose to be sleeping in this picture.  She was being super cute, so in this one she is awake.  I love doing "Daydreams" now.  You will be seeing more of them!

My friend Jillian (check out www.jillianmarieimagery.com) told me of this great idea which originated from www.milasdaydreams.blogspot.com. Check it out, they are awesome.

Today I am 1 Month old!

Wow how the time has flown!  I am getting so much bigger.  My favorite thing to do is keep Mommy & Daddy up during the night. Not to much though just twice a night, most of the time.  I am learning to keep my head up.  I love to look at everything now.  Mommy thinks I look so cute just starring off into space.  I like to smile now as well.  Mommy & Daddy both smile back. The boys are nice to me. They want to play though, and Mom says I'm not big enough yet.

Visit with Grandma & Grandpa Larson

Jonathan's Parents were able to fly over from El Paso, Tx this week to see Makenna.  We all had a good time, and it was good to see them.

Us girls enjoyed a nice shopping trip. While Jon and his Dad checked out a Motorcycle shop.

Date w/ Mom & Dad

Last Friday Makenna was able to go with us to the Casa Grande Firaman's Ball.  It was a Formal dinner and program.  Makenna got all dressed up too.  She was the Bell of the Ball.  She looked so cute all dressed in Blue.  She was so good too, slept the whole time, and loved being passed around.

Makenna got all gussied up for church today.  She looked so cute in her new dress. I have Sunday shoes for her, but they are too big.  She had to sport her sneakers instead.  They looked very cute with her dress.

Showing off my new shoes.

Daddy's Lil Fireman

Daddy's Lil Fireman  I took this photo of Makenna at 6 days old.  She was crying,  so I decided to try it again on a different day. 4 days later she no longer fit in the helmet.  It's amazing how fast she is growing!

IT'S A GIRL!!!

Makenna Pearl Larson
Born 2-19-2011
(@ 10:06pm by c-section)
Weight: 8lbs 6ozs
Height: 19 ins

Saturday morning started a long day of anticipation. We arrived at the hospital at 6am in the morning to get induced. Every 4 hours I was given something to help me progress.  It slowly started to work and the day looked slowly promising.  By 8pm it had been 10 hours and our little girl had moved back up and didn't have any signs of moving back down.  So I was given 2 choices.  Option 1: to most likely be in labor for 3-4 days and by the looks of it, it would end in a c-section.  Or Option 2:  to go ahead with the c-section. By the results of the medications, and only being dilated to 1.  That was the best way to go.  So we got prepared for a c-section.

After a short wait, the next thing I knew we were in the operating room.  The Anesthesiologist was very nice and was very good about making sure I was comfortable.  Unfortunately she had to stick me twice to get the Epidural in. The 1st time she went to the right, and when she relocated it I was stuck in the bone.  Very painful ;(.  She was very nice about it and felt bad. The 2nd time it was just fine.  I think she gave me a large dose to make me feel more comfortable faster, but it took me longer to come out of recovery.  They were talking about it, and she felt bad, I didn't care I felt fine. Besides the weird feeling of not being about to move my legs at all for 2hrs it went well. Once the Epidural was ready they took a pole on what they all thought it would be.  Dr. Ivey and all the nurses were very excited that it was a surprise baby.  They had not had one in a while.  The Anesthesiologist asked Jon what he would prefer (a boy).  Then she asked me (a girl) and within minutes we heard Dr. Ivey say... IT'S A GIRL!!!  I looked over at Jon and he had a shocked look on his face. Then we heard her cry, a smile came across his face that lasted for hours! Once he held her it didn't matter anymore:)

The hardest part of the C-Section was not being able to see Makenna for a few hours.  As soon as they brought her in the room I couldn't believe how Beautiful she was.  They kept her in the nursery the 1st night.  When they brought her in, in the morning we quickly learned that she was such a good baby.

I did Breastfeed her. Unfortunately she was such a good baby and never really cried. I didn't know that she wasn't getting enough. By the 3rd day we were ready to be released.  They checked her levels for Jaundice and they were too high.  She had to stay another 24hrs and stay under the lights. They kept me there as well. By then it was the 4th day in the hospital. It was the hardest thing to be there and not be able to be with her. It was the longest day, and I was so happy when they came in the next day and said that we could finally go home.

It was so fun to get her ready and to finally be at home!!! (The boys are good with her). She never really fusses and for the most part sleeps fairly well during the night.  We are still missing a lot of sleep though.  My mom has been here, and she has been such a help!!!  We really appreciate it, and will miss the extra help once she goes home.

It has been 1 week, and we can see how much of a blessing she will be in our lives!  She is the sweetest baby ever!!!
WE LOVE HER VERY MUCH!!!
